My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Edmond, an adorable 22-lb, 7-month-old mini something mix who is ready to find his forever home!

Background: Edmond was found as a stray with his brother, Felix. They were found tied together with shoelaces around their necks. Felix found his forever home and Edmond is patiently waiting.

Personality: Don’t be fooled—while he is only 7 months old and appears to be mixed with high energy breeds, Edmond is a lazy loaf. He is an absolute snuggle bug who spends some time playing with toys or other dogs before finding a cozy spot on the bed or couch to flop on his back and take a nap.

Health: Edmond has been dewormed, vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped.

Training: Edmond is a well-behaved boy. He is crate trained, walks perfectly on an leash, and has great house manners. Like any young pup, Edmond would benefit from basic puppy training.

Ideal Home: Edmond would thrive in just about any kind of home where he can get plenty of love and attention. He would do well with a family that has the time to continue his training and socialization. Edmond gets along well with other dogs but would likely do just fine as the only pet.

Adoption Requirements: His adoption fee of $350 helps offset the cost of medical expenses as outlined above. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think he could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application*: helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application

*Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Adoption is a lifetime commitment. After an application and a verbal interview is completed and it is determined that the adoption is a compatible match, a contract is signed with specific guidelines. An adoption fee (usually between $250-$500) to help off-set medical, feeding and Rescue costs is collected. The contract states that at any time the adoption does not work out, the dog is to be returned to our Rescue group for alternate placement. The dog is not to be 'given away' or 'rehomed' or 'taken to the pound'. If there are other dogs in the home, they must meet prior to adoption. All family members in the household have to agree to the adoption. No dog is to be adopted as a 'gift'. No out of state adoptions.
