My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Star is an adult female cattle dog mix who is now ready for adoption! She is sweet as can be and has quickly won over the hearts of all of our kennel staff. She has been described as a couch potato and is a little on the hefty side and could use an adopter who can give her a couple of extra walkies each day. She promises to repay you with cuddles and entertaiment! Star gives THE BEST smiles! This girl loves her stuffies and is quite fond of her flowered dog bed here at the rescue. If you would like to add a little twinkle to your universe, please apply to adopt Star at ITVrescue.org.

All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary.

More about this shelter

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
