Dog Name: Scarlett

Sex: Female

Estimated Breed Mix: Likely a Heeler or Mini Aussie Mix

Approximate Age: 8-9 months old

Approximate Weight: 21.5 lbs

Adoption Fee: $450

Description: Scarlett was found in a small rural Texas town and found herself in a high kill shelter with her days numbered. During her time in Texas we learned that she loves other dogs, kids and has done well around cats!

her current foster says, 'Scarlett was welcomed in to our home on 11/2 and was quick to snuggle into the whole families hearts. She is potty trained and kennel trained; in fact we were shocked at how she slept through the whole night without a peep and just waited for us to come get her in the morning. She is super smart and picks up new training quickly (especially with treat motivation). She has learned sit, fetch and comes when called. We are still working on not jumping. She loves stuffed animals and toys! She also loves playing with our big Golden Retrievers and has me laughing throughout the day with her silly antics. She picked up quickly which bowl was hers and to respect the others dogs space while they eat as well. Scarlett is amazing with my little kids and will play with them and cuddle up with them during nighttime routine or even on the couch. Scarlett will make an amazing dog for a single person or a family that likes to be active either walking, hiking, dog parks etc and then come home for some cuddly quiet time.'

Is Scarlett right for your home?

We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433

***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians.

Our Weight Classes are as follows:
0- 25lbs - Small
26- 45lbs - Medium
46-89 - Large
90+ X-large

If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following:

Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped.

If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs by 6 months of age. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months of age, they will need to be spayed/neutered by your veterinarian when they are 6 months to 1 year or age. Proof that the spay/neuter has been completed will need to be submitted to Tailwaggers911. Once proof of the spay/neuter has been received, we will refund $100 of your adoption fee via Venmo, PayPal or have a check in the mail within 15 days.  at one of our preferred clinics.

Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home.

If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home.

If a dog is listed as ADOPTION IN PROCESS, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all.

Please go to
WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out.

Additional adoption info

To begin our adoption process, please visit http://www.tailwaggers911.com/howtoadoptapet.htm - there you can read more about our policies, our adoption area and fill out an online application. The applications are good for 90 days.

After being approved, you will receive an email and if the dog you are interested in is available, the foster for the dog will be in contact to set up a meet and greet to determine if this is the correct dog for your family/lifestyle. If so, you could begin our mandatory 5 day foster to adopt trial period, and if you decided to adopt, we would set up your home visit.
