NAME: Buckeye

BREED: Mini Collie/Pekinesse mix

AGE: 8 months

WEIGHT: 8 lbs

LIKES: Buckeye likes to be nearby and engaged. Enjoys walks around the neighborhood. Treats and pets are high on his list.

DISLIKES: At first he doesn't like to be crated but settles down in short order.

PERSONALITY TRAITS: He is timid to some degree but slowly getting over that. Overall well behaved and adapting nicely to his surroundings. Very cautiously, he makes his way onto a couch or bed.

POTTY TRAINING STATUS: doing great!

CRATE TRAINING STATUS: In a weeks time he is comfortable in a crate at night.

EXTRA/MISC: Buckeye has some tri-coat coloration but mostly fawn and white fluffy hair that is not shedding at all as we go into the Fall. He has strong curiosity and occasionally will stand on hind legs to see something indoors and outside in yard. He loves the yard to watch over, much like a Collie.

Qualifying applicants will be contacted by our Adoption Coordinator with information about the next steps and setting up a Meet and Greet. Our process is not a “first come, first served” process. Our team carefully reviews and interviews applicants to find the best fit for each adoptable dog and potential family. Filling out an application in no way guarantees you a dog or a response email as we get hundreds of applications and choose the best home for the dog.

Distemper/Parvo boosters, and rabies shot, microchip, and spay/neuter surgery are included with the adoption fee. You will also receive a PetSmart puppy packet with hundreds of dollars of savings, a FREE bag of food, 30 minute private training session with a certified dog trainer, and a free checkup at Banfield.

Potential adopters must live within 30 miles of Eugene, Oregon. If you live outside the 30 mile radius, still send us an email, as we will can make exceptions if the circumstances are optimal for the dog or puppy.

The process for adoption through our rescue begins with the adoption application. Once accepted, a meet and greet with the dogs is arranged and includes everyone in the family including other pets. If the dog seems like a good fit, he/she is brought to the home where the dog will be living to make sure it is an appropriate home....ie. dog friendly, fenced yard, etc. Finally, an adoption agreement is signed to insure that the adopter understands what is expected of them.

All our dogs are in foster homes prior to finding their forever homes. Please contact us if you see a dog you'd like to meet. We also participate in adoption events at local pet stores.

Wiggly Tails Dog Rescue is located in Eugene, Oregon. We focus mainly on small dogs that we rescue from the high kill shelters in California. We depend on foster families to help socialize and train the dogs prior to placing them in a forever home. We are focused on saving as many lives as possible!
