Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sunflower here is the latest member in the ittie-bittie-pittie club! Welcome Sunflower! This apricot-colored, 38-pound bundle of joy is estimated to be just over a year old. Though she’s still young, her enthusiasm for life is evident in everything she does, whether it’s learning new commands or simply experiencing everyday moments for the first time. Despite her visible playfulness, Sunflower is surprisingly gentle—she has a way of expressing her excitement without overwhelming those around her, which we think is a sign of her remarkable awareness and connection to people. Take a look at her in action and then come back to read more- https://youtu.be/FdEzzInPuyY
Given she is a rescue we cannot guarantee her age of breed, but observation and experience show us a girl who is the prime age to learn any and everything! On top of that, you will get to witness her do/experience all of her firsts! She has never been on a hike but we know she is going to love it and the joy you will feel watching her light up on a trail is going to be beyond heartwarming. Now transfer that same joy to everything- learning fetch, going camping/running/swimming… so much to experience together! There is so much enthusiasm in her for everything, simply because it is all new, she is in awe, ready to enjoy and experience this one wild life!
When meeting new dogs, Sunflower’s friendly playfulness is on display. While her playful energy can be a bit intense for some dogs, mostly the older and less playful, she has shown a remarkable ability to respect dogs with varying energy levels, giving space when needed, but joining in when it’s time for fun.
Sunflower is a great candidate for a multi-dog household. She’s been so fortunate to experience home life in a foster home with two other dogs and a cat! She loves playtime but equally enjoys wandering around the garden, exploring by her self. Having met several cats we can see that Sunflower is cat-tolerant, having only shown us a cautious respect for them, but her playful nature would likely show itself in a home with a cat she has grown comfortable with. Though she is mostly calm around cats, her curiosity and playfulness could lead to chasing. Slow introduction and consistent supervision will be key for anyone looking to blend her into a home with feline companions.
Sunflower’s adaptability is equally impressive with people. She quickly settled into the routine of her foster home and showed an affectionate and snuggle-bug side once she got the hang of things. She is very attentive, sensitive to corrections and responds well to gentle guidance, especially if treats are involved, which has shown what a fast learner she is! Her responsiveness to training makes it clear she’ll quickly catch on to the rules of your house, with just a little initial structure and support.
Sunflower is an affectionate, loyal companion who is eager to learn and experience life to the fullest. Her future family will not only gain a playful, fun-loving dog but also one who is devoted and full of love. With continued training and guidance, she’s sure to blossom into an even more wonderful addition. If you think Sunflower could be the perfect fit for you, please reach out to Kristin@ThreeLittlePittiesRescue.org , or apply via the adoption link-

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:
Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
