Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Good with: people, most dogs but preferably male dogs. Does not get along with other alpha females. Unknown if she gets along with young children.
Meet Effie
Effie is an easy going dog with a wonderful personality. She enjoys snuggling on the couch, going on walks and to the park, chasing the hose, hanging out on brewery patios, and being part of a family. She can be stubborn but she makes it easy to love her.
Before her injury, she went to doggy day care once a week and has experience with being boarded. She loves to say hi to her dog friends in the neighborhood when she is on a walk. She is not leash reactive. She likes going on low intensity hikes, but can get tired pretty quickly on a hot day. Since she has had multiple injuries, Effie would be happiest in a home with a yard where she can watch squirrels all day, investigate new smells, go on regular walks, and hang out with her people.
While she is really comfortable with those she knows and loves, she can be wary of new people, especially new people that visit her home. She does best being introduced to new people outside of her home. However, she has never bitten anyone. Everywhere she goes people fall in love with her. She might be the only dog that looks forward to going to the vet because she knows the staff have a hard time not constantly petting her and telling her how cute she is.
Effie completed an 8 week training course and is still learning new tricks. She’s not huge on toys, but is very food motivated. She can work out a puzzle toy or a new skill with the right treat.
Because of her injuries, it is possible that Effie needs to live a lower impact life, but still gets the enrichment she deserves. This means including her in more day to day activities instead of intense exercise.
She is also very funny. Very good howler when sirens come through the neighborhood.
