My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Rosie. I went to live with my foster parents in early August and we have spent a lot of quality time together. My humans realized right away that I was very nervous and didn't have much confidence, but I have made lots of progress.

When I first went home with them I would tremble a lot and got scared when they would reach for me. I'm getting better but I need more time and patience to cross the finish line. For instance, at first I wasn't too fond of being touched. But now I love attention as long as I don't have to sit in your lap... I'd rather have my back feet on the floor. I always liked laying on the couch but just recently it's become ok for my foster parents to sit next to me. Oh, and if Mom lays on the couch I will lay on the couch with her by her feet! Sometimes you will wonder where I am. Well, that's when I am laying very quietly in my own little space in the dining room called Rosie's Corner. Quiet time is a good thing.

I love treats... especially the soft chewy ones. Biscuits are good but you know, a girl likes to be pampered. But to be honest, I'm not really interested in learning tricks... maybe one day.

I get along very well with the other foster dog in the house. We have our crates side by side. We have a fenced yard to play in... and we really like to play... red hours can breakout at any time!

I am very shy, and I need to develop some confidence. This is where I will need your love and patience the most. I am not hand, foot, or food aggressive. I have next to no prey drive, but I am prey aware. When you go to put the leash on I will pancake. But if you are gentle, I am patient and go along nicely. I have not been tested with cats or little children. Teenagers and grown-ups are fine.

Another area I need more help and patience in is housebreaking. My parents let us out every couple of hours. Even so accidents in the house, though, becoming less frequent, happen. You see, the trick is, when you let me out into the yard you have to make sure I do my business. Sometimes I'm in a hurry to come inside and I forget.

I am really looking forward to becoming someone's forever, best ever, friend. I like to go on walks. I like being nearby. I am becoming more and more confident every day. And, I am warm and silky and have the softest dog tongue you'll ever get kissed by!

Did I mention I love soft, chewy treats?
