My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Peanut!

This bright and chatty girl is eagerly awaiting her forever home! Could you be the one? Peanut adores interacting with humans, and her favorite activity is watching all the critters that pass by our window. Talkative and playful, Peanut would make a wonderful addition to any home, particularly those with younger animal-lovers. Having said that, Peanut can be a little bit nippy when overstimulated, so she may not be amazing for families with especially young toddlers or infants.

Anyone who's had the pleasure of seeing this girl in shelter knows she craves attention above all else. Whether it's meowing incessantly at you through the door of her room, or following you around like a furry shadow, you can count on Peanut to keep you entertained!

Peanut may be able to coexist alongside other cats, though she would probably prefer being the sole feline of the household. She might also be OK with dogs -- her room looks out onto our outdoor dog area and every time she sees one, she paws at the glass excitedly. That said, seeing dogs and getting up close and personal with them are 2 different things entirely!

Keep your new family member safe and consider investing in a catio or "cat-proofing" your balcony/deck. Leash-training, or letting your cat tag along in a pet backpack, are other safe options. Alternatively, you can bring the outside in with strategically placed bird-feeders and pollinator plants!

Thank you for your interest in adopting! Do you think you could be Peanut's person? Apply today!

TIP: We strongly suggest all applicants to write a little bit about themselves when prompted. Leaving these questions empty inhibits our ability to make the best match possible, and drastically effects the likelihood of receiving a call back.

The Victoria Center is open for in-person adoption viewings Tuesday through Sunday, 12pm to 4pm, staff and animal well-being permitting!

Some animals may not be available for public viewing due to limited shelter space, medical and behavioral reasons, or other contributing factors. Kittens are not available for viewing as they are often in foster homes for health & safety reasons.

Due to the high number of applications, we will ONLY be contacting select individuals to further review their interest. While we do our best to let applicants know whether they've been selected or not, the center is extremely busy! If you do not hear back within a week, it's likely the animal has already found a forever home. Phone inquires regarding the status of your application cannot always be prioritized.

Animals cannot be held for potential adopters for more than 24 hours without a legitimate reason.
