My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Skeeter!

Skeeter needs a loving new home for his golden years. He was a rescue puppy and spent his whole life with one mom as an only dog. Because of little exposure to other dogs, he is scared of them. He is a people dog!

Skeeter is a senior dog at 11 years old, and he weighs 24 lbs. His elderly mom fell, but we expected she would recover. It's heartbreaking for all of us that she and Skeeter cannot be reunited. Fortunately, he has been with a wonderful foster mom for the last few months. He adjusted very well, better than we expected. His loving nature and willingness to bond are why we believe he can do it again. We now know that he will not be able to return to his elderly mom.

Skeeter is a super sweet love bug! He loves to be near his mom/dad. He makes a really great companion. He is potty trained and loves to go for walks or potty outside.

Skeeter needs to be an only dog. He has been an only dog his whole life so that's what he knows. He goes out for walks and doesn't always like other dogs especially the big ones. Sometimes he doesn't like other people walking or running by. But Skeeter loves people who come to his house!

His foster mom loves him so much. However, upfront she told us she could only foster him for a few months, and he spent three months with her. His foster mom is very willing to speak to interested adopters.

At Skeeter's last checkup on 7/20/24, he received a cleaned bill of health. He currently takes a thyroid pill and medication that has prevented him from having seizures for years. His pills together run about $30 a month. Skeeter was once very overweight, and according to the vet that is why he has hanging skin on his chest and stomach. But he is still cute as a button!

Skeeter will come with his bed, blankets, collar, harness, leash, medical records, any leftover meds, treats he likes, and some food. He is looking for a family who will love him as much as he will love them in return.

If you are looking for a sweet and loving new best buddy, please consider adopting Skeeter! To learn more about him, please text or call Linda at 760-805-6218.
