For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
Hi, I'm Athena, a sweet 6-month-old kitty! Like my namesake, the Greek goddess of wisdom, I'm smart, playful, and always looking for a good strategy-especially when it comes to finding the perfect spot to curl up! I might not have a shield and spear, but I do have lots of love to give and enjoy being around people. Apollo and Hera are my siblings, so if you are looking for a pair, look no further! If you're looking for a wise choice in a companion, I'm the one for you!

More about this shelter
Kitsap Humane Society is a private, nonprofit animal shelter. We rescue and rehome over 6000 pets each year. Every dog or cat leaves our shelter spayed or neutered and with complete vaccines and a microchip. We have been caring for animals in need since 1908 and envision a time when all adoptable pets have loving homes.
We are extremely proud of our exceptionally high “lives saved” rate of over 96%. Through our active adoption, behavior, foster, transfer, and veterinary programs, we are able to rehome every adoptable animal that enters our facility. No animal is ever euthanized for lack of space.
In addition to caring for and adopting animals, we also provide spay/neuter services to low income residents of Kitsap County, and provide Animal Rescue and Enforcement services to our surrounding municipalities.
