Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 11 weeks

Estimated breed: Pit bull/Staffordshire terrier mix

Pablo and his four siblings were surrendered to an extremely overcrowded rural shelter when they were only 2 weeks old with their mom and two other adult dogs. Despite being terrified in the shelter environment, Mama Honey diligently took care of her nursing babies while living in a crate in the shelter's vet room. That environment is not conducive to young babies, and unfortunately two fell ill and were rushed to the hospital. One of the babies did not make it, but the other pulled through and was able to rejoin her siblings.

You would never guess that Pablo and his siblings grew up in a crate in the shelter. They are the happiest, sweetest puppies who prove that dogs hold zero grudges, and there is no such thing as "baggage" when adopting a rescue dog. Their mama Honey is a 50 lbs dog, so we estimate the puppies will be at least that size or larger when full-grown, but we can never know for sure! They are catching up on all the essential puppy skills in their foster homes and looking forward to continuing to learn and train in forever homes. They are looking for families with lots of time, patience, and love to give to them for the rest of their lives!

Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Nirvana Animal Rescue! Our adoption process is in place to ensure we find you the perfect match. The process includes the following steps:

Submission of online application.

Volunteer review of your application, including a background check on all adults living in the home, checking personal references, contacting your landlord if you rent, and contacting your veterinarian if you have current pets.

Phone interview with a volunteer to discuss the answers on your online application, share more information about Nirvana Animal Rescue, and answer any questions you have.

Virtual home visit with a volunteer to review your home and yard and ensure it is a safe environment for a dog.

If your application passes the above steps, the final step is arranging a time for your entire family, including resident dogs, to meet the dog you’d like to adopt! We require that everyone in the family meet the new dog before fully approving the adoption.
