My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rocky! Rocky came to us with 10 other dogs, as part of a large hoarding case. Their owner was moving and wanted all the dogs euthanized. Concho Animal Advocates reached out to local rescues for help, and Chi Town agreed to take in 11 Chihuahua mixes, including Rocky. Rocky is approximately two-years-old and weighs ten pounds. He came from a bad situation, but that hasn't stifled his affectionate nature. Rocky is shy at first, but go slow and get down on his level, and he will soon be crawling in your lap. Rocky's favorite place to be is close to you, soaking up pets and love. We don't think Rocky had been given much attention in his previous situation, so we are happy to help him make up for lost time. Rocky does well with other dogs and is used to sharing his space with multiple animals. If you are looking for a shy and sweet young dog, come meet our Rocky! Email us at chitownrescue@gmail.com for more information/meet and greet appointment. Rocky's adoption fee includes neuter surgery, vaccinations up to date, Rabies certificate, and microchip.

More about this rescue

"Chi Town" is short for "Chihuahua Town," which is our nick-name because we found that the majority of animals we were rescuing happened to be Chihuahuas and literally have a little “town” comprised of Chihuahuas! Chihuahuas are one of the most over-bred dogs in Arizona and unfortunately many end up in need of rescue. However, we are not limited to saving just Chihuahas, we do save other breeds dependent on availability of space. Chi Town also specializes in rescuing dogs who require a little extra TLC and are at risk of euthanasia at county shelters. These dogs may not be doing well for a variety of reasons- fear, fear aggression, anxiety, or a medical issue to name a few. These are the dogs that typically have no other outlet and for which time is of the essence . After our dogs are medically cleared and/or their behavioral issues have improved, they are available for adoption.

Please be aware that we do our very best to answer all questions in a timely manner.

We are always seeking to help promote these special Chihuahuas who are too often overlooked in AZ shelters due to the sheer volume of this breed. Please share and like us on Facebook:
