My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Whiskerberry is a very affectionate and curious medium-haired tuxedo teenaged boy. He will adore all the attention that you can lavish on him and, in exchange, will loyally follow you around your home in areas he is comfortable going into. His foster family has nicknamed this sweet boy “Beaker” (of Muppet character fame) due to his cute “conversation” style (squeaks!) and often slightly surprised expression.

Whiskerberry is part of a dynamic duo with his best buddy Bedsocks. These boys are among a group rescued from an overcrowding situation. While they were initially quite withdrawn, their personalities have emerged revealing very sweet boys who are very people oriented. They are still learning to play (they were completely unfamiliar with toys) and have discovered a great love for wands. They still startle with unexpected sounds. As these boys socially rely on each other and will look for each other if they are apart for more than a few minutes, it is in their best interest find a find a home together.

Whiskerberry enjoys the gentle affection from all people – including younger children (elementary age and older). He has not yet had a chance for any playtime with toddlers and, to our knowledge, has not been around dogs. Whiskerberry and Bedsocks would be fine in a home with other cats who are younger than them, but would not be a fit for a home older cats. Whiskerberry is up-to-date on his vaccinations, has been neutered, and is litter box trained. Submit an application and we can arrange for a “meet-and-greet” so you can see for yourself how special he is!For more information or to apply to adopt, please go to: https://www.purrpartners.org/adopt/

More about this rescue

Purr Partners Feline Rescue is a 501(c)(3), no-kill, foster-based, all-volunteer organization dedicated to saving the lives of cats and kittens in Central North Carolina — incorporated in 2009 by two friends, four cats, and no budget. These two women realized the need for a "cat only" rescue that worked with rural shelters — where cats routinely lose their lives. Purr Partners was founded to save the lives of those most in jeopardy with little hope of survival. High-kill rural shelters became the focus for Purr Partners, and that is still true today. From those humble beginnings, the rescue has grown to over a hundred active volunteers and a budget of approximately $175,000. At any given time there are between 100 and 150 cats and kittens in foster care. We have saved the lives of over 3500 cats and are still growing!
