My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

He’s ready to shower you with some BROTHERLY LOVE!

Meet Andy Lawrence! Andy Lawrence is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section).

Born July 2024, Andy Lawrence is a terrier mix puppy with golden fawn fur, floppy ears, and a black muzzle that resembles a goatee. Andy Lawrence and his siblings Joey and Matt were dumped in an alley adjacent to a home in Freeport, Texas and taken in to the Brazoria SPCA. They’ve journeyed to find new homes in the PNW area. We are currently taking applications for Andy Lawrence, and he will be able to go home with an adopter after his neuter surgery on or about October 15, 2024.

Andy Lawrence is the athlete of his brothers. Playful, smart, and curious, he is always on the hunt for a new adventure or a new dandelion to stalk (he enjoys pouncing on the flowers and watching the seeds disperse). Jumping and running around make this little guy so happy. And toys? Yes, please! He is fascinated by the larger resident dogs in his foster home, trailing behind them, and running for the safety of his crate when they try to get him to play. With his growing confidence in the world and his abilities, it won’t be long before he joins in their games. Andy Lawrence’s energy is only matched by his affectionate nature; he loves being close to his humans (adult and children) and snuggling up with you on a warm blanket is the perfect way to rest up after exploring.

Andy Lawrence is a young puppy, but he has progressed well through his potty training and is almost house broken, waking once during the night to go outside. He sees his crate as a place of safety and will begin leash and obedience training shortly. In the meantime, Andy Lawrence is spending his days romping, cuddling, and getting lots of playtime, love, and new adventures with his foster family. Andy Lawrence is growing into a healthy, active, affectionate pup ready for his new home.

Andy Lawrence’s ideal home? It might be yours! An active, athletic puppy, he would thrive in a home where he would get walks and adventures and playtime (maybe even agility training). People who love him that he could love in return is a must. And toys, please! Does this sound like your home?

What is Path of Hope Rescue’s Adoption Process?

Our adoption process takes on average 7-10 days.

  1. Begin by completing the online application. EVERY application receives an email response from us (check your spam folder!).

  2. Your personal Matchmaker will contact you, help you find your perfect pup match, and guide you through the process.

  3. Meet your potential pup at the home of the foster family (the process may differ slightly for long distance adopters).

  4. Bring your potential pup home for a no commitment In Home Trial. In Home Trials are a minimum of (2) nights for a puppy and one week for an adult. Your Matchmaker will check in with you during this time.

  5. Sign the adoption paperwork and adopt your new family member!

Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue

  • Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process.

  • Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs a year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccinations (when age appropriate) and deworming and heartworm treatment/prevention. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course.

  • Long Distance adopters (one hour or more from Spokane) may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250. Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon.

About Path of Hope Rescue

  • At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes.

  • We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment.

  • Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events.

  • Please visit https://www.pathofhoperescue.com/ for more information about our organization and the adoption process.
