A Ray of Sunshine all year round!
Meet Sunglow! Sunglow is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section).
Born in June of 2024, Sunglow is a young, female, Labrador Retriever mix puppy with black and white markings and cute freckles on her legs. One of our Crayola crayon orphans, Sunglow traveled from the Brazoria SPCA in Texas to find a new home in the PNW area. We are currently taking applications for Sunglow, and she will be able to go home with an adopter after her spay surgery.
Sunglow is a yellow-orange color that appears warm and cheerful, two traits this little pup shares! Mellow, funny and playful, Sunglow has an endearing and social personality. Sunglow adores the children she has met in her foster home (they give great tummy rubs!) and she gets along well with both the younger and older resident dogs. Affectionate and sweet, lap cuddles are a must for this girl. When she isn’t snuggling, Sunglow is an active girl who loves chewing on bones and stuffies and playing fetch. While Sunglow frequently indulges in zoomies with the younger pup, she is very respectful of the senior dog and his boundaries and adjusts her energy level around him. She has a puppy’s curiosity and loves to explore and check out new things, though reflections of herself are a bit perplexing; silly Sunglow will bark at her doppelgänger when she sees it in windows or the stove glass.
Smart and curious, Sunglow is a quick learner. She is crate trained and sleeps through the night; she is progressing through her potty training and has started leash training. Sunglow loves her food and treats, and with the incentive of a reward, acts quickly on her commands. She is figuring out how to take the stairs in her foster home; apparently, she has had little experience with these before!
Sunglow’s ideal home? Maybe it is yours, if you have a home with people she can love who will love her in return, take her for walks and provide her with play adventures, and will continue to teach her the skills that will help her grow into a healthy and happy dog. Children and other dogs would be a plus but not a dealbreaker for this ray of sunshine; all she needs is that one person to shower her with affection and share a life with her.
