My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Whoa! You gotta see this pup!

Meet Joey Lawrence! Joey Lawrence is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section).

Joey Lawrence is a young terrier mix puppy with warm coffee colored, heart-melting eyes and adorable brown and white markings.  Part of our Lawrence Brothers litter with siblings Matt and Andy, Joey Lawrence traveled from the Brazoria SPCA in Texas to find a new home in the PNW area where he will BLOSSOM. We are currently taking applications for Joey Lawrence, and he will be able to go home with an adopter after his neuter surgery on or about October 15, 2024.

Friendly, affectionate, and curious, Joey Lawrence is social and outgoing. He loves romping with the other dogs and pups in his foster home, and playing ball with the older children in the home is fast becoming a new favorite activity. Joey Lawrence has yet to meet a toy he doesn’t like. A short walk makes him very happy (his little legs are building up to longer ones!). Curious and funny, he eagerly explores the world around him, though he isn’t fond of going outside as the nights get colder and darker earlier (I mean, who would blame him?).

Born in early July of 2024, Joey Lawrence is a young puppy learning new skills daily. He is progressing well through his crate and potty training and wakes once a night to go out. Joey Lawrence loves his walks and is quickly picking up good leash manners. He will begin his basic obedience work shortly. In the meantime, Joey Lawrence is spending his days romping, cuddling, and getting lots of playtime, love, and new adventures with his foster family. He is growing into a healthy, active, affectionate pup ready for his new home.

Joey Lawrence’s ideal home? This sweet pup seeks people to love who will love him in return and ensure he learns the skills that will make him a well-rounded and happy dog. While he would love a dog sibling or children in the home, he would be equally content to be the center of your attention. Joey Lawrence would love someone to join him for walks and explores, and plenty of toys and bones to chew would be swell. Want to add some BROTHERLY LOVE to your life? This might be the pup for you!

What is Path of Hope Rescue’s Adoption Process?

Our adoption process takes on average 7-10 days.

  1. Begin by completing the online application. EVERY application receives an email response from us (check your spam folder!).

  2. Your personal Matchmaker will contact you, help you find your perfect pup match, and guide you through the process.

  3. Meet your potential pup at the home of the foster family (the process may differ slightly for long distance adopters).

  4. Bring your potential pup home for a no commitment In Home Trial. In Home Trials are a minimum of (2) nights for a puppy and one week for an adult. Your Matchmaker will check in with you during this time.

  5. Sign the adoption paperwork and adopt your new family member!

Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue

  • Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process.

  • Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs a year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccinations (when age appropriate) and deworming and heartworm treatment/prevention. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course.

  • Long Distance adopters (one hour or more from Spokane) may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250. Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon.

About Path of Hope Rescue

  • At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes.

  • We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment.

  • Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events.

  • Please visit https://www.pathofhoperescue.com/ for more information about our organization and the adoption process.
