My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Baby, our 8 year old 10 pound chihuahua mix, suffers from camera-shyness. We managed to get some photos, but generally, when Baby sees the phone come out, she turns away. Very demure. We suspect Baby is not sure about her smile now that she has no teeth. We're sure she's as adorable as she is sweet.

Baby came to us when her owner passed away and Baby was surrendered to the shelter. Due to her terrible dental disease and a mammary mass, we were asked to help. None of Baby's teeth were salvageable but she eats softened food just fine without them. More good news; the mammary mass was benign.

An easy house guest, Baby is quiet and polite. She is crate trained but can be trusted alone in the house. Initially shy, Baby may spend a few days under.the couch. But once she's warmed up, she is incredibly friendly and cuddly. Baby loves a nap in the sun and is happy to hang around other dogs (as long as they don't compete for her lap time). We have not seen Baby around cats, but considering she just looks at squirrels, we suspect a cat friend would work well. Due to her shyness, we recommend kids over 10. And, since Baby is a bit unsure about a leash, a fenced yard would be best.

Baby is heartworm negative, current on her flea and heartworm preventions, and has had full normal blood work.
