My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Well hello there, my name is Millie! I'm a Large Mixed Breed youngster that would love to share your last name. I've been told I'm sweet, affectionate, pudgy, and a great snuggler. I love playing with my plushies, getting belly rubs, learning new skills, and "helping" my hoomans with cooking. Now, I'm not sure what I'm mixed with and unsure how big I'll truthfully get, I will say I'm already about 30 pounds and some treats as change.. so I might be on the side of being the best sized lap dog. I adore being around other dogs, so I wouldn't mind if you already had another dog in your home, I'll adjust with time! As I'm still young, I will need some training, so I hope you're ready to commit to a lifelong adventure of learning together. Don't worry, I've been told that I'm a smart lil' cookie that enjoys doggie cookies! I'm already spayed, current on my puppy vaccinations, and microchipped! I'll be waiting to introduce myself to you at the Benbrook Waggin' Tails Adoption Center; open daily from 12-6 p.m. If you have any questions about me or the adoption process, give my hooman caretakers a call at 817-249-3647.

More about this shelter

Our History
The Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT) was founded in 1905 and is the oldest animal welfare organization in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. While the organization’s name has evolved from the Fort Worth Humane Society in 1905, to the Tarrant County Humane Society in 1910, to the Humane Society of North Texas in 1982, its focus has always been on caring for animals in need. HSNT provides services such as pet adoptions, low-cost spay/neuter surgeries and vaccinations, returning lost pets to their owners, cruelty investigations and humane euthanasia. HSNT operates four pet adoption centers and a quarantine facility in Tarrant County, as well as an equine and livestock ranch located in Johnson County.
