My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Celina, a 6 year old Mix Breed lady who is looking for a family to call her own. Celina did come to us from another shelter, so we aren't sure about her life before the shelter. We have noticed that Celina is struggling to adjust to shelter life, she is very nervous around new people and it will take some time for her to warm up to her new family. But she is a very calm and sweet girl who enjoys curling up on the couch with a comfy blanket. It is believed that Celina is potty trained though she may have a few accidents while she is adjusting to a new potty routine in home. Celina does seem to get alone with other dogs that are as chill as she is, we do recommend a slow introduction to other dogs in the home, coming home can be stressful. She would also do better in a home with older kids, as she is very nervous, young kids could scare her. Celina is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm tested negative. She is available at the Benbrook Waggin' Tails Adoption Center everyday from 12-6. If you have any questions about this sweet girl, please give us a call at 817-346-3647.

More about this shelter

Our History
The Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT) was founded in 1905 and is the oldest animal welfare organization in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. While the organization’s name has evolved from the Fort Worth Humane Society in 1905, to the Tarrant County Humane Society in 1910, to the Humane Society of North Texas in 1982, its focus has always been on caring for animals in need. HSNT provides services such as pet adoptions, low-cost spay/neuter surgeries and vaccinations, returning lost pets to their owners, cruelty investigations and humane euthanasia. HSNT operates four pet adoption centers and a quarantine facility in Tarrant County, as well as an equine and livestock ranch located in Johnson County.
