Meet Gizmo
DOB 4/11/24
Gizmo is the largest of his litter and is going to be a big boy because he loves his meals and he loves his naps! All of his siblings will be wide awake at breakfast time but he usually likes to sleep in! He loves to play with his sister but also likes to settle down on the couch for a nap. He enjoys being where his human is and will often follow his person around the house unless of course he is napping. He is so very soft and enjoys being petted and even picked up and snuggled by people he knows. He may take time to get comfortable with new people and may be shy at first but once he gets to know you, he will want pets and snuggles. He has been raised in a busy house with two dogs and respects the dogs’ space and does well with other cats. He is still a kitten so he likes to explore, play in his tunnel (This is his favorite) and climb his cat tree. He also likes to chase his tail.
PLEASE READ:
Adoption fee $100 for adult ( over 12 months old) and $125 for kitten (under 12 months old). All cats coming into your care will be delivered altered (spayed/neutered), tested for Fiv/FELV, microchipped, have received age-appropriate vaccines, treated for fleas and worms. We are not first come, first serve. We try to match our kitties with the purrfect home.
Silverton Cat Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are an all-volunteer organization. All our kitties are in foster care. We ask that you be patient with us as we connect you to the foster to set up a meet and greet.
Most of our kittens are placed in bonded pairs. One of the most important ways we can support the behavioral and emotional development of a kitten is to make sure they’ve got a friend. Despite the common belief that cats are solitary animals, they’re actually incredibly social beings who thrive when they have feline friends from an early age. That’s why the cat experts always recommend adopting two kittens, or adopting a solo kitten only if you already have another young cat in the home for the kitten to befriend. It may come as a surprise to hear this, but two kittens are actually half the work of one! Giving your kitten a buddy will improve the lives of the cats while also making your life easier.
In order to make sure cats under our care go to the safest and most compatible homes we require adoptees to fill out our Rescue’s application and accept a home visit. Please fill out an application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SIL/Cat or email us at silvertonrescue@gmail.com for more information.
