My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Zorn: The Ultimate Grumpy Charmer!

This resilient little warrior has overcome incredible odds after being found injured, likely from a car accident that cost him both back legs. But don't let his past fool you - Zorn is a fighter! Zorn can walk around using his front two legs with no problems. He enjoys the company of other cats and humans (after some time to warm up). Instead of snuggles, Zorn's love language is a head bump, especially if there's food involved.

Despite his challenges, he's fully capable of using the litter box independently and can potty independently. Since losing his back legs, Zorn has adapted like a pro - he zooms around on his front paws, scoffing at wheelchairs and clambering up onto beds without missing a beat. He's perfectly potty-trained and only asks for a little help keeping his rump clean.

Zorn has a vocal and grouchy personality that shines through, and beneath that grumpy exterior lies a heart full of love! Zorn may look like a bit of a grump, but he's earned it! This handsome fellow has been through a lot, and he's made it clear that he's not here for cuddles or smothering attention. he is still learning to live as a two-legged cat, so he will need time to adapt and realize he doesn't need to be in 'survival mode' anymore.

Zorn may seem aloof, but he's secretly a social guy. He spends his days lounging in sun puddles, scowling in the cutest way possible, and occasionally hanging with his best buddy, the youngest kitty in the house. He's also unbothered by chill dogs.

He's on the lookout for a caring family who can shower him with affection and help him forget the past. If you're patient and gentle, Zorn will reward you with his unique brand of love. He's perfect for someone who understands that not every cat needs to be a lap cat. If you're looking for a tough, independent spirit who just needs a safe home and someone who loves him just as he is, Zorn could be your guy! Together, you can create new, joyful memories and let Zorn truly embrace life!

More about this shelter

Two women, one American, and one Mexican met in Sayulita through their mutual concern for the many sick, abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs and cats in the area.

They began working together informally to rescue, rehabilitate, and find homes for these animals. Their efforts eventually led to the formation of Wet Noses Rescue, which has grown from a small backyard operation to an expanding nonprofit housed on a property with dedicated facilities in Punta de Mita. Providing the animals with health care, rehabilitation, socialization, and careful evaluation which is needed for a successful adoption to new homes in the United States and Canada.

Wet Noses Rescue also provides Spay/Neuter clinics in the local community to reduce overpopulation and vaccinations to reduce the prevalence of serious diseases such as Parvo and Distemper.
