Hi, my name is Cala! I am a sweet girl who is learning so many new things! I love to play with toys, go on walks and cuddle on the couch. I am still learning some manners but I am very smart and I am catching on very quickly. Treats are my favorite so training is a lot of fun for me! I have mastered “sit” , “down” , and “come”. I am also kennel trained! Going into my kennel is no problem (especially with a treat!) and I enjoy napping in there when my foster parents are not home.
Playing tug is my favorite game. I am learning how to be gentle while playing with humans and do well with redirection when I get over excited. I do love other dogs but I am a bit rambunctious for some. I would do best in a home by myself or with a very patient and forgiving dog who can help teach me dog etiquette. I have interacted with older kids (12+) and have done really well! Kids are a lot of fun and I get very excited when I see them. I would thrive with an active family that can provide me with plenty of exercise. Having a patient family who is willing to continue my training is very important. My foster parents say that I am a great dog and will make a wonderful addition to a loving family.
Cala is from a local shelter. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.

If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
