Take the Pet Home
Cala is a true pitty with a sweet nature. All she wants is to be close to you, often sitting under her foster’s desk while they work. If she wants attention, she’ll gently nudge you with her nose. She’s a great listener, easy to redirect, and always eager to please, often looking to you for approval. Cala gets very excited when she first sees you, greeting you with full-body wiggles, especially in the mornings. She adores kids and becomes enthusiastic around them.
She goes into her kennel on command and stays quiet, sleeping peacefully through the night. Cala walks well on a leash and loves playing with pull ropes and squeaky toys. She knows basic commands like sit, stay, and down, and she’ll even drop her toy for you to pick up and throw. Fully potty trained, once she learns the routine, she’ll let you know when it’s time to go out. Cala gets along well with other dogs and is always eager to play. She doesn’t bark at people or other dogs during walks.
The ideal home for Cala would be one with older kids (12+), as she can be bouncy, energetic, and engages in playful mouthing, a behavior that can improve with training and redirection. She would thrive with an active family that can provide her with plenty of exercise, such as walking, hiking, or running, which helps her release energy. A fenced yard isn’t necessary, as she prefers to stay close to the door rather than lounging outside, even in warm weather.
Cala is from a local shelter. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
