My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Journey is a sweet, very smart, active girl. She is great with other dogs and children and loves to play with tennis balls. We think she would be super happy in a household with other dogs or going someplace where there are other dogs for her to play with. Because of her active personality, cats aren't a good idea for this girl. Did we also happen to mention that she has the best ears? 'Cause she does. Come see this cute girl soon.

Journey is two years old and weighs 57 pounds.

Journey’s adoption fee has been covered by a generous donor. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting Journey, visit her at the shelter during open hours or complete an adoption application on our website. If you have an existing dog at home, we recommend bringing it to meet Journey.

More about this shelter

We promote the humane care of all abandoned and stray animals in our community. We are a no-kill shelter. All of our pets leave the shelter for their forever homes micro-chipped, up to date on vaccines, and altered.

Founded in 2002, Helping Strays is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization supported entirely by donations.

Our lucky animals receive appropriate medical care, are featured on the Helping Strays website "adoption list" and are taken to several adoption events every month in an attempt to find permanent, loving homes.
