My name is Pumpkin (bonded To Autumn)!

NOTE: Since the intent is to adopt Autumn & Pumpkin out together, you need only apply for one of them.

Meet tabby sisters, Autumn (lighter face, no nose stripe) & Pumpkin (darker face, more orange-y nose stripe)!

Recent transfers from the Alberni SPCA, Autumn & Pumpkin were initially quite shy, though have since come a long ways. Once they've acclimatized to their new digs, we're certain their goofy personalities will win you over! Autumn provides a great source of comfort to her shyer sister, and is decidedly the more outgoing of the pair. She goes crazy for wire wand toys and gets "zoomies" at random hours of the day. Pumpkin isn't as keen about playing with humans, though she certainly keeps herself entertained! She's a big fan of mice toys and thoroughly enjoys attacking invisible "blanket critters" (your toes are NOT safe!).

Although Autumn and Pumpkin have really come out of their shells, homes with excitable dogs and curious toddlers may not be the best match for these sweethearts. They tend to scare easily at loud noises and will probably spend most of the time hiding when guests are over. Our friends at the Alberni SPCA noted they seemed interested in other cats, though they were not housed communally alongside any.

Keep your new family member safe and consider investing in a catio or "cat-proofing" your balcony/deck. Leash-training, or letting your cat tag along in a pet backpack, are other safe options. Alternatively, you can bring the outside in with strategically placed bird-feeders and pollinator plants!

The Victoria Center is open for in-person adoption viewings Tuesday through Sunday, 12pm to 4pm, staff and animal well-being permitting!

Some animals may not be available for public viewing due to limited shelter space, medical and behavioral reasons, or other contributing factors. Kittens are not available for viewing as they are often in foster homes for health & safety reasons.

Due to the high number of applications, we will ONLY be contacting select individuals to further review their interest. While we do our best to let applicants know whether they've been selected or not, the center is extremely busy! If you do not hear back within a week, it's likely the animal has already found a forever home. Phone inquires regarding the status of your application cannot always be prioritized.

Animals cannot be held for potential adopters for more than 24 hours without a legitimate reason.
