My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Summer came into care after she was found in a rural area, sick and alone in the middle of the road.

She has spent her time recovering from an upper respiratory infection and gaining weight and it hasn't stopped her for a second.
Summer is an incredibly affectionate little girl, she loves everyone and everything and she will give you kisses non-stop.

She is great with dogs who like to play, she is a rough and tumble lady that fights dirty, biting ankles and jumping on backs for sneak attacks!
She does well with children and would make a good companion for another cat as well, however due to the upper respiratory infection it's important that the other cat be up to date on vaccinations as well as not immune-compromised or otherwise unhealthy.

If you are interested in adopting this wild child and never feeling alone again, fill out the application below
She is currently in a foster home so is available for viewing by appointment only.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

    Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

    Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

    Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

    1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

    2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

    3. Freedom from distress

    4. Freedom from discomfort

    5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
