- Needs a bit of time to warm up to new people, situations and places, but once he's comfortable with someone he loves them so much!

- Once he has bonded with someone he likes to follow them everywhere; when they're standing he'll probably be sitting or lying at their feet, and if they're sitting, he'll very likely be snuggling with them

- Having confident dog friends helps bring out his confidence, and he has been doing very well with the dogs in his foster home; we highly recommend that he go to a home with another dog to help him come out of his shell; has enjoyed playing and wrestling with another dog in his foster home

- Loves to chew on bones and big Nylabone-type chew toys

- Does well on a leash

- Has been potty trained in his foster home; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new home and schedule

- Has done very well going into his kennel when his foster family will be gone; they said they've also started testing letting him have free roam of the house when they're gone and he has done very well

- Because he is quite shy, he'd love to have a safe space in his home that's just for him; will also do best in a structured household with a routine to help him build confidence

- Looking for a teens-and-up home right now so he can feel as comfortable as possible; has done well with older kids in his foster home

- May not enjoy large events or gatherings

- Has done well with cats in his foster home, shows polite interest in them but backs off when the cats show that they don't want to interact with him

The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
