MEET SHADOW!! Shadow is a resilient and loving soul, saved just in time from the euthanasia list, which he was on due to no fault of his own. Despite a rough start, he is ready to leave the past behind and find his forever home! This sweet 3-year-old boy, a bulldog mix is a bundle of affection, always eager to please and be by your side. His name perfectly describes him as he truly will be your shadow. He craves human attention and is most content when with his person. He loves belly rubs, snuggling, and showing off his goofy side. Shadow has a calm yet playful temperament making him a perfect match for an active family or someone who loves outdoor adventures. Did I mention he is an avid singer? He has lived in a foster home with older children and adults, two medium sized dogs, and three cats (who have kept their distance from him). He will do best in a home with NO cats. Shadow does need a loving home with patience to help him adjust. He is just learning to fetch and what it means to play with toys. He needs a space to run and play, as he has lots of energy to burn! Lastly, he needs a family willing to continue building his trust and confidence. He will do best in a home where he is not left alone for long periods of time. Shadow has been through so much, but now he is ready to start the best chapter of his life. Additional adoption info

All potential adopters will be required to complete our Adoption Application, read and sign our Adopting Policies and Procedures, and participate in a home visit by one of our adoption representatives. Our Adoption Application is located on our website: www.underdogaz.com.

We also have a mandatory two-week Foster With Intent to Adopt trial period for all animals in order to be certain the pet is a good fit for your family.

Our standard adoption fee for dogs is $200; puppies are $250.

Non-standard fees do sometimes apply. Puppies younger than six months may have a higher fee. Designer dogs, purebreds, and other toy type breeds may also have higher adoption fees than the standard $200.

We do, however, have discounted fees for dogs that are seniors, a pair of dogs adopted together, or cats. If you are a veteran or an active duty service member, please ask about our partnership with Pets For Patriots.

All Underdog pets are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped prior to adoption.

We are a 501c3 non profit, your donations save lives and are 100% tax deductible.

More about this rescue

Underdog Rescue of Az is an all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescuing and re-homing of abandoned and/or abused dogs.

We are a foster-based rescue, and do not maintain a physical base of operations. All of our animals are placed with loving, caring safe foster families until they are adopted. We are also an "All Breed" rescue, and do not discriminate based on breed, age, size, etc.

Underdog's mission also includes educating the public on the issue of animal welfare. We strive to promote shelter reform, spay and neuter education and emergency rescue information & assistance.
