My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My name is Hemmy, I am a 15-year-old, spayed female, domestic short hair tortie. I was relinquished to MaxFund in September 2024 by no fault of my own, and now I am looking for my fur-ever home! I have spent my whole life with my best friend Chevy and need to go home with him! I am very friendly and talkative, I'm also a licker and love to lick my humans. If I catch you laying down, I would like to come lay on your chest. I am very good with children and ok with most cats but unsure of dogs. If you have a dog the shelter staff can test me with a Maxfund dog and see how I do. Chevy and I are looking for a kind and patient home where we can love our humans and get loved on. If you are interested in a couple of sweet old cats, come to the shelter to meet me!

The shelter hours are Sunday - Monday, & Wednesday - Saturday (Closed Tuesday) 9:30 - 4:30, Closed 12:00 - 1:00 for lunch.

More about this shelter

The MaxFund is a non-profit organization that was established in May of 1988 to provide medical care for injured pets with no known owners, and to seek out new homes for these animals once they have recovered. The MaxFund is a no-kill dog and cat shelter. MaxFund assists hundreds of people and animals each year by trying to make the correct match between owner and pet. MaxFund adopts our animals to Colorado residents only.

The MaxFund is a TRUE no-kill shelter. There is no pre-sorting of animals into "adoptable" and "non-adoptable" categories, discarding the so-called "unadoptable." The MaxFund takes every animal it has the space for. EVERY animal is kept until its owner is found or it is placed in a new adoptive home.
