Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hi, my name is Dunkan! I’m a big, gorgeous 2 year old tabico boy, who was rescued from the streets in August by a nice lady whose yard I showed up in. Originally I came in for TNR (Trap Neuter Release), but after a few days of hissiness, I realized I was safe, and I warmed up VERY quickly to my human helpers! I may have been a lost pet, but no one claimed me during my stray hold, so I am on the search for my forever folks.
I am a velcro kitty who wants to be petted all the time. If you’re nearby and not petting me yet, I’ll give you the most soulful gaze, and a soft meow, to remind you I’m right here, waiting to give you some loves! I am a cuddler! I like being picked up, and even enjoy being rocked like a baby (but I’ll gently let you know when I’m ready for down, please!)
I had an ear infection when I came to the rescue, and I was so sweet and patient with my treatment. I’m even a good boy at the vet; I made little biscuits while they were drawing blood (like seriously who does that? Can you even believe what a sweetheart I am?) I’m a very good patient!
Speaking of food, I LOVE it and I will go to great lengths to obtain it. (Guard your plates!) I prefer wet food to dry food. I think I was starving outdoors, because when I first came inside I was very anxious and frantic about food, but now I’m learning that there’s always enough. I’m still kind of figuring out toys, but so far what interests me most is spending time with people, getting scritches and snuggles, and just staring up into their eyes. I have SO much love to give!
I like sitting on high up places, so I think I’d enjoy a cat tree where I can watch all the family activity. But keep an eye on me, because when I’m trying to catch your eyes for pets, I get very roly-poly, and I’ve been known to roll right off things (darn gravity!) I can be a little clumsy sometimes, but my helpers say it’s part of my charm.
I’m not sure if I’ve ever been around dogs, but I suspect I’d be okay with a gentle dog, with proper introductions of course. So far I get along well with other cats, except I can sometimes barge in on their food bowls, which for some reason isn’t always appreciated. What ever happened to family style dining??? While I don’t have any issues with other kitties, I also don’t seem too interested in them, so I think I’d be okay in a home with or without other kitties.
I’m not sure if I’ve been around kids, but I think I will be fine around very calm older kids who respect my boundaries. I definitely need a home where my people aren’t gone for long periods of time, because I’m a real people cat, and I flourish with a lot of human contact!

‼️Help control the pet population - have your pets spayed or neutered! 💯
We have an adoption application to learn a bit about the home our cats will be going to and the family's motivation for adoption and expectations about pet ownership. We also have an adoption contract, which includes a no declawing and indoor-only clause along with a vet promissory note that ensures you will continue with the medical care and spay/neuter if needed.
We DO NOT do any out of state adoptions except on the NC border on a case-by-case basis.
We require a donation of $120 for adoption of unaltered kittens with a PTV Contract. All kittens receive vaccine series and wormings as well as medical treatment as needed. The adopter is responsible for obtaining their rabies vaccine and spay/neuter if the kitten is not of age at the time of adoption. We can provide resources for low cost clinics that offer these services.
We ask a donation of $25 to adopt Career/barn cats.
We require a donation of at least $140 for adoption of Spayed/neutered cat.
Bonded pairs adoption donation is $200.
Sometimes we require rental checks or home inspections. We always have a Meet n Greet to make sure everyone gets along. We encourage bringing the whole family!
