My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ZOEY IS IN HER FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO VA ONCE ADOPTED!

Pretty little Zoey has been fully vetted and is now ready to find her forever home! I could probably just let her pictures tell the story- she’s adorable, beautiful, petite, and clearly a little princess!! But, as with all our dogs, we try hard to make the best match possible to ensure successful adoptions. That being said, Zoey has some specific things she’s looking for. First- Zoey is a daddy’s girl to the core!! She’s fallen hard for the daddy at her current foster home, following on his heels. She will whine cry and bark when she can’t see him or be with him so her new person must be prepared for that level of devotion! She will be happiest with someone to dote on her, cuddle her, carry her around and treat her like the princess she is!!! She loves to go on car rides and just be with her person all the time. Zoey is not fond of other dogs. She will actively try to drive off a dog that’s in her space. She’s tolerating the other dogs in her foster home but ideally she’d prefer to be an only child- again she doesn’t want to share the attention of her human! She could likely join a home with a respectful dog that’s willing to leave her alone, but she’s unlikely to ever be a companion or playmate to another dog. Additionally, young children frighten her. We believe she is a purebred Yorkshire Terrier so she will require lifelong trips to the groomer to keep her looking and feeling her best. Zoey is about 4-5 years old and weighs 8.5 lbs. Yorkie dogs can have a very long life span with proper care so her ideal match would be prepared and physically able to care for her for a long time. She adores going for walks and does well on a leash. Because she is so tiny, she needs supervision while outside to protect her from hawks etc. Zoey is housebroken and will whine at the door to go outside. She is currently sleeping in a crate at night but will whine and cry if contained in the daytime- she wants to be with you! Transport north is available for this special girl! If you think you can provide this high maintenance little queen with the home that she deserves, please

She is fully vetted a to include spay/neuter, microchip, rabies and all vaccinations. Her adoption fee of $600 includes the transport to VA. We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Zoey up north to her new family.
