Please don’t overlook this beautiful pair of bunnies as they have a very special love story. They were found roaming loose in a neighborhood in Lake Nona a few years back and were wrangled to safety by our intrepid rabbit rescuers. Sarah, the Californian (white bunny with gray ears) was captured first, and we captured Perry, the spotted lop, the following evening. When the two were reunited they were overjoyed and they have been inseparable since. It is clear that they have a deep bond.
Sadly, there were more clouds on the horizon for the lovebirds. Sarah was found to have glaucoma, and eventually had to have both eyes removed. She recovered well from her surgery with her devoted hus-bun by her side. Then, recently, the family who had been caring for them told us they would no longer be able to keep them, and so now Sarah and Perry are looking for a new home.
Sarah and Perry are very sweet rabbits, on the larger size, but anyone who has been around rabbits knows that large breeds tend to be calm and gentle and these two do not disappoint in that category. They are inseparable and love to cuddle together, but that doesn't mean they won't cuddle with their humans. They are excellent eaters and love their hay, pellets and greens. They are both very good with their litter box and keep a tidy pen. Perry tends to be the shy one of the two, but nothing seems to rattle Sarah and she is always there to comfort him. They have been living with dogs since they were rescued and tolerate them well. They are a lovely and loving pair and are ready to find a home to call their own.
We adopt to indoor homes only! If you are interested in adopting a bunny from Orlando Rabbit Care and Adoptions, or would like more information on rabbit care, please visit our website at: http://www.orlandorabbit.org. The first step in our adoption process is to complete an adoption application, which can be found here: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/55856/generic . Then one of our volunteers will reach out to you via email to schedule a time to speak with you. If you don’t see the email in a day or two, please check your spam folder!
Our Adoption Fee/Donation for a single rabbit is $100, a pair is $170, and a triple is $200. This helps to offset the cost of having the rabbits altered, microchipped and vaccinated, as well as any medical care that may have been required.
