Gatsby is a 10-year-old (estimated) Yorkie/Pom who was found as a stray and was placed in a high-kill shelter. Misty Eyes brought him into our foster program to find his forever home. He is very sweet and friendly, gets along with other small dogs and seems eager to please. He was a bit of a medical mess on intake, but is doing very well now. He does have a mild heart murmur, a mature cataract in his right eye, and a hypermature cataract in the left. He has very limited vision, and is expected to gradually become totally blind. Because of severe dental disease, Gatsby's remaining teeth were extracted. He feels much better without them, and can eat just fine as long as his dry food is pre-moistened, or he's fed wet food. Gatsby also had some bladder stones and underwent surgery for their removal. He is on a prescription diet to prevent further stone formation. He is somewhat house-trained, but no guarantees! If he's taken outside to potty on a regular basis, he does well. He loves to go for walks, even though he doesn't see well. He loves his toys and has a unique way of playing with them (kicks them backward). Gatsby is a wonderful, entertaining companion dog for a quiet, not overly active, household. If you'd like to meet Gatsby, please submit an adoption application online at https://www.mistyeyes.org/adoptionapplication.
