Amaze is truly an amazing guy! He's only about 3 years old and he came to us after spending his life in a home but when a new baby was on the way, Amaze was turned in. Amaze was quite scared initially and spent a lot of time trying to figure out what was going on. Eventually, he figured out that everything would be ok and he started checking out new things and making new friends. While he's still a little reserved with new people, once you pet him and he's used to you, nobody will love you more than this guy! Amaze was turned in with another cat and they get along fine, but they are not especially close. They can be adopted together but really, Amaze gets along with all cats and would be fine with any feline friend. He just wants to much to go back to a great home where he'll get all of the love and attention he deserves. Come meet him! Call 609-693-1900 or email: office@ahsppz.org for an application. More about this shelter
The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.
For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
