Meet River, a sweet and shy kitten who's taking his first steps into the world of humans. Found in a colony of cats, River has been learning to trust and grow braver every day. He loves to roll around, play, and snuggle with his siblings, Flora and Fauna.

River flourishes in the company of his family, so he would adjust best in a loving home alongside his mama, Meadow. With a little patience and love, River will blossom into a loyal companion. If you're looking for a gentle, playful soul to join your family, River is ready to embark on this new adventure with you!

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Before submitting an application, we ask that you review the information on cat care and our policies here: https://www.vokra.ca/adopt

2.
Interview

Our adoption counsellors focus on educating our adopters on cat care. Once approved, they use a matching process to find your perfect pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

When you find a kitty you like, you will arrange an appointment with the foster home - where the kitty feels most comfortable and confident.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoptions contract process includes reviewing critical cat care information and providing contacts for post-adoption advice.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Woo hoo! You will be expected to take the kitty to a free post-adoption vet check within 2 weeks, and follow up on any required vet care.

Additional adoption info

Each year more than 1,400 cats and kittens are adopted through VOKRA. We're always here after the adoption if you need ongoing advice.

Response times can vary, depending on the time of year and available volunteer resources. Applications and help requests for non-emergency issues will usually receive a response in 1-3 days.
