AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - ELVIS

BREED - Wirehaired Terrier
SIZE - About 10 pounds
AGE - about 5 years
GENDER - Male
MEDICAL CONCERNS - None known
BEHAVIOR CONCERNS - None known
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Elvis is a precious little fellow who came to us recently from a central North Carolina animal shelter where he had been found as a stray. This sweet boy evidently did not have a responsible owner as he was never claimed, and it was discovered in the shelter that Elvis has heart worms. Our rescue is delighted that we found Elvis, and we immediately started treatment to eradicate the heart worms. Left untreated, they would be fatal.
Elvis is asymptomatic and that makes him a great candidate for a soft kill eradication rather than the extremely painful and risky hard kill method. His medications will come with him to his new family, too! Elvis is in otherwise great health, is neutered, microchipped and up to date with vaccines. And if you are wondering why his name is Elvis.... it's because he has that same impish grin at the legend! Fully grown at just 10 pounds, Elvis is a perfect size for most homes! He adores all people, is quiet and happy and makes a great couch snuggler! We are seeking a home with an adopter who has the ability to work from home or be at home the majority of the day to spend time with this amazing boy. A home without small children or larger pets, and with a fenced, secure yard to give him a secure place to run and play is perfect for our special guy.

Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of Elvis as well as our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and your family to meet Elvis at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting him and determining that he matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner. More information on our website at www.carerva.com.
