My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

No need to speak to the manager; Karen is our spunky senior gal with a lot of smarts and life experience that makes her a gal who knows what she wants, and we love that! She`s not the biggest fan of younger dogs (hey, she`s a senior. She doesn`t have time for the youngins!), and we think she`d probably be best as an only dog or with a dog close to her age. We recommend bringing your pup to see if they make a good fit. The home that adopts this little 15lb spitfire will be gaining a terrific lady who`ll make you feel like a satisfied customer!

More about this shelter

Our shelter had it's beginnings in the mid 90's and formally became a nonprofit organization in 2001. The dream of Lee and Sophia DiClemente has grown to be the largest no-kill animal shelter in New Mexico. Lee passed in 2010, but Sophia carries on with the support of a small staff, a large number of volunteers, and numerous donors - large and small.
