Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Sugar. She was scheduled to be euthanized because she had no use of her back legs and was leaking urine in her crate. We are told that her back legs are paralyzed but that is no big deal for her. She is an extremely happy, extremely lovable and very mobile one year old pup. She drags herself around. We just took her to the vet and it turns out that she actually has a broken back with a severed spinal cord so the chances are that she will probably never walk again. She’s only 6 pounds, and is going to be a lapdog so she could very well adapt to a cart and the rest of the time just be your lap buddy or go in a poncho pouch as your companion and buddy as she is so tiny. We are getting more information on her getting her a cart and some physical therapy. At this time she does need to have her bladder expressed three or four times a day, and her anal glands twice a day. She does pee and poop on her own, but does not have the ability to completely eliminate her bladder and anus. It’s very simple to do as she’s so small and you only need two fingers. We can teach you how to do it. Anybody interested in helping us financially with this dogs, medical and cart? We are also looking for a permanent adopter for her. You won’t regret it. She has the best best best disposition.. You can send donations to our PayPal at http://www.paypal.me/muddymoosemuttsinc for our Venmo account at Muddy Moose Mutts Inc. Every little bit would help with her vet bills. Please visit our website at https://sites.google.com/view/muddymoosemutts/home or email pawrescued2016@gmail.com for an application. You won’t regret it. Her adoption fee is $550.

We do NOT have a brick and mortar shelter. Our dogs are in a home environment awaiting adoption and all meet and greets will be scheduled after an application has been received.
We frequently do adoption events in our local area and you can often find us at Torrington Petco, Waterbury PetSmart, Winsted Tractor Supply and Winsted Feed Store, showing off our gorgeous dogs! Check out our Facebook page for upcoming adoption events.

More about this rescue
Formerly Meade Canine Rescue New England, Muddy Moose Mutts became a new independent rescue in April 2017. In 2022, Muddy Moose Mutts saved over 150 dogs, many of which were on lists to be euthanized at the kill shelters they were in. Many came from local pounds as strays. Many were saved from Texas ahead of the hurricane. Many were abused, neglected, and malnourished. Many were owner surrenders where the owners had died or lost their home. All were in search of a new loving forever home. And that is where Muddy Moose Mutts stepped in.
Each day, taking in a new dog with unknown issues, can lead to a drastic increase in our expenses. We do not discriminate against the dogs we rescue. We take in the young and the old, the healthy and the sick, and the unfriendly and the adorable. We are there for the dogs in need. We have treated dogs in need of surgery for bladder or kidney stones and mammary tumors, Cushing's disease, cancer, provided life-saving heartworm treatment, provided dental work for dogs with rotting teeth, provided long term hospice care, and worked with dogs in desperate need of human interaction and guidance. Most importantly, we provided these dogs with a loving and caring home environment while they waited for their forever homes.
Please consider supporting our mission by checking out our adoptable dogs for your new best friend. If you are un-able to adopt, please consider a donation to help us help these deserving dogs. You can learn more about the rescue at https://sites.google.com/view/muddymoosemutts/home
