Londyn was discovered as a stray, bearing the visible scars of a tough past that included a challenging skin infection and indications of being used for breeding. Despite the hardships she faced, Londyn's spirit shines through as she embarks on her journey toward a brighter future.
She also faced difficulties with breathing, but has received airway surgery since being with us and is now breathing normally, her prior ailments are cleared up, and she's doing great!
Londyn can be nervous and has a history of being reactive when meeting new people. She takes a while to warm up, but it's just because she's been through so much. A little patience truly goes a long way with her. Potential adopters should be prepared for a challenging first impression, as Londyn may lunge at new people. However, with time and dedication, her sweet and affectionate side will emerge, sure to melt your heart.
Due to her anxiety, we recommend a home without small children, allowing Londyn the space and tranquility she needs to thrive. A dedicated owner who is willing to work with her and help her with socialization and training is essential.
Londyn can be selective with other dogs and exhibits a tendency to resource guard her toys and food. While this behavior can be managed with proper training, we suggest a home where she can be the sole recipient of attention and love. If there is another dog in the home, guidance and training will be key to addressing her resource guarding tendencies.
Despite her quirks, Londyn is an incredible dog who has weathered life's storms and now deserves a second chance with a caring family. If you are ready to offer patience, love, and a stable environment, Londyn will reward you with loyalty and companionship like no other.
Lucky for her, Londyn has a couple of wonderful volunteers who spend time with her every week, and this is what they have to say about her:
"Londyn is a wonderful pug who just needs an opportunity. Londyn is a beautiful Princess who has much love to give. She should’ve been named her Xena instead of Londyn. The reason is because Londyn like Xena has a strong personality. Under her eyes she doesn’t need protection and that’s because she’s the one who will protect you. Londyn’s file explained that in the past she had been used for breeding and we suspect the that’s the reason why it’s hard for her to trust. I can only imagine the pain that came when her babies were taken away one by one, and now she feels the need to give extra love and that’s why she protects her loved ones. I suspect that this is why some people think that she’s aggressive but trust me she’s not. She’s a beautiful princess who has lots, and lots of love to give. It only takes a few hours, and snacks for her to trust you. While the process with her is a little slower the love she gives you will reward you with unlimited love!
How do you win Londyn’s trust? That is a good question and a simple answer. Londyn does not like it when people try to immediately touch her or pet her. You need to first show her your hand and let her smell it. Once she decides that you are a good person, she will slowly let you touch her. My suggestion is that at this point you give her a snack and take her for a walk. She loves going for walks and especially loves running in the park. When she gets tired, she will turn around and look at you and start jumping, this is a sign that she is tired, and she wants you to carry her to the car. Once you really earn her trust, she will turn around so you can give her a belly rub. Belly rubs are her absolute favorite, once she lets you give her belly rubs you will realize that she loves you. In due time she will even start giving you kisses."
Londyn is so, SO deserving of a loving forever home. Think it could be with you? Please inquire today!

More about this rescue
Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.
