Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Joey, a very special and handsome boy who was fortunate enough to be rescued from life in a puppy mill at age 4. At first Joey was terrified of everything and everyone, as he had no idea what it was like to be a normal dog, in a home with a loving Mom and other dogs. He immediately took to the other dogs in his foster home, as dogs were familiar to him in his previous life. Needless to say, life in a puppy mill left him untrusting people as he had limited exposure to them and was shown no love or kindness.
Fast forward 6 months, and thanks to his devoted foster Mom, sweet Joey has made huge progress and is a happy and healthy boy finally ready to find a forever family of his very own. He will require a calm and stable home with at least one other dog to be comfortable, with experienced dog parents who are patient, loving, and willing to continue to work with him to slowly become more comfortable with everyday events, sights and sounds to overcome his residual fears. He really needs a family where someone will be home with him most of the time.
Joey likes to sweetly nudge his Mom in the mornings to let her know when it’s time to wake up. He loves time in the back yard and is fascinated by the squirrels there. He is playful with the right doggie playmate, and he likes to play with socks! His funny little personality comes out once he gets to know you. He is crate trained, and when he is comfortable with you, will allow you to gently touch or pet him. At first completely unfamiliar with a collar and a leash, he now looks forward to his daily walks to check out what’s going on in the neighborhood. He is still very timid, and will need lots of love and patience.
Joey is a special boy who is now free from the horrors of the puppy mill and learning to enjoy the life of a ‘normal’ dog. If you have the heart, patience and time to give him a loving home, please apply at msrnt.com
