Meet Buffy, a 4-year-old, 12 lb chi mix looking for her forever home!

Background: For several days, Buffy and her pal Greta were running around terrified and unable to be caught by concerned neighbors. HARTT stepped in to help trap these girls and they made their way to loving foster homes where they await forever homes.

Personality: Buffy is a snuggle pro who loves to relax. She is a laid back and loving girl who can’t get enough of her favorite people. She follows her foster mom all around and loves to lay beside her whenever possible. Overall, she is an easy dog who just wants to find her best friend. Could that be you?

Health: Buffy is up to date on all vaccines, spayed, and microchipped.

Training: Buffy is house-trained, crate-trained, and uses a dog door. She is not leashed trained.

Ideal Home: Buffy would love a home where she isn’t left alone too much. We are unsure how she is around small children. She coexists with other dogs but really loves to be with her people and would prefer not to share. She exhibits jealousy when other dogs seek attention from her people and would do best as the only dog in the home. Since Buffy doesn’t enjoy leash walks, a secure, fenced-in yard is a must to keep her safe.

Adoption is a lifetime commitment. After an application and a verbal interview is completed and it is determined that the adoption is a compatible match, a contract is signed with specific guidelines. An adoption fee (usually between $250-$500) to help off-set medical, feeding and Rescue costs is collected. The contract states that at any time the adoption does not work out, the dog is to be returned to our Rescue group for alternate placement. The dog is not to be 'given away' or 'rehomed' or 'taken to the pound'. If there are other dogs in the home, they must meet prior to adoption. All family members in the household have to agree to the adoption. No dog is to be adopted as a 'gift'. No out of state adoptions.
