Rocky is a courtesy listing. He is not with the Tampa Baby Beagle Rescue so please contact the owner about his adoption.
Rocky is a 12-year-old beagle that was rescued in July 2024. His previous owner passed away and Rocky was in pretty bad condition when he was picked up from the shelter. He is overweight but lost almost 6 pounds in the last 2 months. He learned to use a doggy door and doesn’t have any accidents in the house anymore, which was the biggest win. He seems to be scared of getting picked up or touched in some areas, but he’s getting better every day. He also has 2 fatty tumors, but they seem to shrink as the weight goes down.
He’s a very happy boy who enjoys going on walks, getting scratches, and following you around. Rocky deserves a lot of love and care. He wants to be active, but his weight challenges him, so fighting that off will give him years and years of happy doggy life. But he can also sleep on the floor next to you all day if needed.
He’s good with other dogs. He will also do just fine alone. A house with a backyard and doggy door would be the best for him, as he loves to go outside, lay on the grass or patio, and enjoy himself. But as long as you’re with him he can do well anywhere!
