My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Available to the right adopter, who either has experience with scared dogs, or is willing to continue with her training.

Ellie is a precious Boxer mix, that is currently being fostered with one of our dog trainers that specializes in timid, shy and scared dogs. She is guessed to be under 1 year old.

She is absolutely adorable and her eyes will melt your heart but she is still pretty shy.

Her foster mom thinks she would do better in a quiet home with adults or older children to work with her. Another confident dog could be helpful, but not necessary.
She is dog friendly. Her foster doesn't have any cats but thinks she would be fine with them if introduced slowly and properly.

She will need an adopter, who will give her love and patience. Please consider this adorable girl as a part of your family. She deserves all the kindness and will give you a lifetime of affection. The shy dogs become the most loyal dogs, who adore their humans. (By the way, there is also discounted support/specialized training available in Fort Collins for owners of scared dogs)

Her foster mom is located in Loveland, Colorado.

Go meet their pets

Over 75% of our dogs are in foster homes along the front range. The foster will get in touch to schedule meetings for their foster dog. Meetings will happen in/near their homes since that is where the dog is the most comfortable. We do want you to bring family members (human and dog) to the meeting! Dogs who are currently at our Windsor facility will have meetings there and a volunteer will reach out to schedule those meetings with you. Please be aware that we do not place our dogs on a first come, first served basis, but rather a best-fit placement. Never fear, applications are valid for a year so if the first dog you meet isn't a good fit, we will have plenty of time to find one that is.
