My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Loki is a low key boy waiting for his forever family to come find him! Sweet Loki was found as a stray dog by police and transported to the open intake shelter. Since getting here, Loki has been overwhelmed but shown us what a sweet and gentle boy he is.

Loki is now available for adoption and foster at ACCT Philly. You can meet him any day from 10am-6pm. Interested fosters should email foster@acctphilly.org.

Loki knows sit:

Behavior:
Per Volunteer 10/1/24: When I approached his kennel he was calm and patient while I opened the door. He gently dodged the leash a few times then allowed leashing easily and walked slowly out of the shelter to explore ALL the smells. He's quite the sniffer- he loves taking his time on walks and didn't pay much attention to me for a while. Loves treats and takes them very gently. Once I had treats out he paid much more attention to me! He showed me that he knows sit too. Very laid-back boy- he took some pets, but wasn't overly affectionate. Gave me some tail wags when I gave him butt scratches! He didn't show much interest in toys. Very low key boy! After he goes bathroom he spends like 30 seconds kicking dirt and rocks over it to keep it secretly hidden! It was cracking me up. Very easy to handle and no issues going back inside

Per Staff 10/1/24:
BEHAVIOR EVALUATION:

KNOWN HISTORY:
Stray

KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Loki was laying on his bed and glanced up with neutral eyes. He came to the front with soft eyes and a wagging tail and was very patient for leashing! Exited without issue.

LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls moderately

HANDLING:
In the room Loki walked around exploring and marking and then came over to us with soft eyes and mid level wags. He was food motivated and took treats gently when offered and was very smart! He showed knowledge of Sit, Shake, and Down and was very excitable but well mannered. He can get snatchy when he gets impatient, ut for the most part he was gentle. He allowed all handling from us in the room without any issues and leaned in periodically when petting him.

PLAY
Engaged in play

TOYS:
Interest but no possession
