How this pet arrived:
Millie was brought in by a community member on September 21, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Introducing Millie! While she may be a little shy at first, she'll soon warm up and claim her rightful throne by your side. You'll know her by her unique bow-legged strut and a noticeable limp, a signature move that's sure to make heads turn on walks. Our medical team gave her a once-over and noted her "altered gait"-which, in fancy terms, means her stroll has a bit of extra flair, thanks to some conformational quirks. Don't worry, though-Millie doesn't let a little pelvic tilt or her limp slow her down. She's all about that easygoing lifestyle, preferring long naps to long runs, and a cozy spot in the sun is all she needs to reign supreme. Millie is thriving in her foster home, where she's getting along wonderfully with both dogs and cats! She loves to play and socialize, making her a perfect fit for a multi-pet household. If you're ready to roll out the royal treatment, grab a leash, a collar, and adopt Millie today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
