My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Bella was brought in by her previous owner with another dog.

At SDHS:
This sweet girl has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. She is now ready for their new home!

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Bella, a sweet, sensitive girl with a heart of gold! At just one year old, she's still finding her paws in the world. Bella is a bit shy around new people, but don't let that fool you-once she warms up, she's a bundle of love and affection.

Bella is cautious at first but incredibly loyal once she trusts you. She thrives on attention from her favorite humans and will shower you with gentle nuzzles and playful antics once she feels safe. She loves to run, play and has the most joyful zoomies! Bella also loves belly rubs and has a cute little wiggle that's guaranteed to melt your heart once she's comfortable!

Bella would thrive in a calm, patient environment where she can take her time getting to know her new family. A quiet home with a secure yard would be perfect for her. She's looking for someone who understands her gentle spirit and can help her build confidence with positive reinforcement.

If you're ready to offer a loving home to a sweet girl who just needs a little time to blossom, Bella is waiting for you! Want to know more? Come visit Bella at our San Diego Campus today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
