My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jade, our sweet cuddle bug who is searching for a loving home! This gentle girl is initially shy and may feel anxious around new faces. With patience and some tasty treats, she'll gradually learn to trust and will become your devoted best friend.

Jade has wonderful manners and knows how to sit, making her a pleasure to be around. When she's not snuggling, she loves to zoom around the yard and enjoy a frozen Kong. Jade thrives in spacious environments where she can explore and play.

While she seems to get along well with other dogs, a slow and proper introduction is essential to help her feel comfortable. Jade seems to get a little too excited when she sees a cat, and given her playful chase instincts, a home without feline friends will be best.

Jade is looking for a family that can provide the support she needs to overcome her anxiety with new people. With love and patience, she will flourish as an amazing companion. Anyone would be lucky to welcome this sweet girl into their home-are you ready to give her the forever home she deserves?

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
