My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Big Mama is exactly as her name suggests; she's simply big mama, like the owl on Fox & the Hound! She is everyone's friend, whether it's another cat, a dog, a kid; she is as sweet as can be - and that's all there is to her! She's about 4.5 years old - and probably weighs in around 12-13 pounds, so yes, there is also truth to the 'big'. BUT what could be better than a sweet chunky girl who wants nothing more than love, attention, and of course, lots of treats! Don't get me wrong, Big Mama can get down with some playtime, as well; whether it's through toys or she's simply zipping around the cat room like she owns the place (she does.) & we love her for it!

More about this shelter

We are a non-profit organization out of Monticello, IA specializing in the care for dogs and cats that need us. Our care does not stay local, as we take transports from all over the United States, and adopt all over as well!

Our mission's primary focus is to help reduce the homeless pet population by finding homes for spayed/neutered pets, and helping educate WHY this process is so important, and the proper way to care for pets!
