My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Opal sure knows how to strike a pose! This adorable 4 month old, 15 pound (as of 11/15) Terrier/Feist mix is the doggy version of a freshly baked black-and-white cookie: Sweet, soft, and always delicious!

Opal loves going on long walks and is developing good leash manners as she becomes more experienced. She can get a bit spooked by loud noises and crowded streets, but again, as she gains more confidence, she is slowly learning to ignore all that stuff. Opal seems to benefit from the companionship of well-mannered dogs and is eager to follow their lead and mimic their behavior. An A-plus student, Opal has been using pee pads while perfecting her housebreaking skills, and she responds to the commands sit and paw. With additional training, this crackerjack can really go places!

Playful and peppy, Opal is a toy maniac who loves balls, ropes, squeakies, and any kind of stuffed animal. Typical of any young pup, Opal has a decent amount of energy, but she is able to chill out when you need her to settle down. Opal is both treat-motivated and crate trained, so all you need to do is show her the way and she will comply. She doesn’t exactly love being left alone, but after a few minutes, her anxiety subsides and she’s totally cool.

A people-oriented pooch, Opal adores humans of all ages, including children and the elderly. During her down time, Opal will be right next to you on the sofa, cuddling and snuggling. She loves being pet, scratched and kissed, and no area is off limits. She is 100% all yours. Just as her name suggests, Opal is a true gem who will bring sparkle and joy to her forever family!!!

More about this rescue

PupStarz Rescue is an animal welfare group committed to the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs and cats in public shelters at high risk of euthanasia, as well as those in danger of abuse. We are committed to rescuing as many animals as possible, saving over 2,600 dogs and cats since 2015.

PupStarz Rescue is a foster-based rescue, relying on fosters to open their homes and lives to our Animals. Animals in our care receive proper medical care, including alteration, vaccinations, and microchipping.

Following a thorough screening, our animals are placed in loving, responsible, committed forever homes. PupStarz Rescue ensures that adoptions are an appropriate match for both the animal and their new family by educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a furry companion into their lives.

We are committed to the welfare of our "Starz" beyond the adoption process. We maintain open communication with our adopters to ensure a smooth transition, and offer additional support such as positive training techniques.

Founded in 2015, PupStarz Rescue is a non-profit, 501(c)3, no-kill, animal rescue organization.
