TONKA
Tonka, by all appearances, is a purebred Tibetan Spaniel. How this boy ended up on the streets as a stray and not claimed is anyone's guess.
Tonka is an exceptional pup. He is super outgoing, loving, cuddly, and adventurous. He lives up to what a Tibetan is described as being. Here are links to learn more about the breed. https://www.tsca.ws/aboutthebreed/ https://dogtime.com/dog-breeds/tibetan-spaniel
Tonka may have been a breeding stud. He did well with all the females he met but did not like male dogs in his space. He will need to be an only dog for his best life, though, with proper and slow introductions, he may do well with a spayed small female for a companion.
Tonka is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, healthy, and just stunning. He loves bath time, being groomed daily, and being fussed over. He loves to prance around and show off how handsome he is after his daily brushing.
Tibetan Spaniels are still rare in the US. Tonka is happy to be safe, and we look forward to finding him his forever committed family. He will do okay in an apartment but loves having a fenced yard to explore. He looks forward to the 2-3x daily walks and enjoys spending days with his humans. Tonka does not like spending hours alone, so his best match will be someone who works from home or is retired.
How To Adopt Tonka
Please use the link below to apply. One of our volunteers will review the application and call to follow up with questions, answer yours, and see if you are a match for this pup. The next step is a meet and greet if a match can be made. Please use a computer, as tablets and cell phones will drop the application. Tonka has been transitioned to a human-grade diet that avoids kibble for a healthy canine-specific feeding regimen. We will educate his adopters on proper diet and nutrition for his and his new buddies. To apply to adopt Tonka, he has a $595.00 adoption fee. All monies will be recycled to cover medical care and rescue more dogs. Please fill out the online application using this link. Please be thorough in your answers and expound whenever possible so we can get to know you and make the best match. https ://
